DESCRIPTION:

POLYCHEM Acrastrip® 600 B&G MOD (AUTOMOTIVE) is our formula designed to remove solvent-borne and waterborne coatings during purge and clean-up tasks with non-hazardous technology. Acrastrip® 600 B&G MOD (AUTOMOTIVE) is a neutral, biodegradable and water reducible composition designed for flushing paint lines of coatings such as urethanes, acrylics, epoxies, waterbornes, and high solids bake enamels. Acrastrip® 600 easily cleans electrostatic bells, paint guns, plural component metering systems as well as pressure pots and pumps during multiple color changes in a production environment or in all booth/equipment maintenance applications.

The active ingredient of Acrastrip® 600 B&G MOD (AUTOMOTIVE) allows the thorough removal of residual paints during rapid color changes. POLYCHEM Acrastrip® 600 B&G MOD (AUTOMOTIVE) replaces solvent materials such as MEK, acetone, xylene, toluene and many other solvents used in automotive and general industrial painting processes.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES:
When possible, apply air chops and a final air purge when using the AS-600BGMA as a purge solution. AS-600 products respond best to pressure. Be sure to apply a minimum of 65 PSI for optimum results. The AS-600BGMA utilizes the HAPS-free solvents to reduce the paint while utilizing the paint friendly surfactants to shear and completely remove all paint residues from the paint-line walls. The AS-600BGMA need not be heated in purge or flush applications but should be heated to 150°-160°F for all paint stripping procedures.


PROCEDURES FOR PURGING WITH ACRASTRIP PRODUCTS BY POLYCHEM:

Preparation for purge tests
Add one gallon of the AS-600 to a 5 gallon pail (20% solution)
Top off with water to the 5 gallon level
Mix for 5-10 seconds

For pressure pot testing
Use the standard procedures for solvent purging but make sure that the purge pressure is at 65 PSI or greater.
Allow the pot to run dry so that a final air push takes place.
When possible, but not required, remove the paint gun from the line. This speeds up the purge and also eliminates cake up in the gun filter. The clogging at the gun filter is usually caused by the stripping power of the AS-600 removing old skin over residues that were resident in the line as a result of insufficient solvent purging.

Specs For Electrostatic bell/ disk /robot systems
Be sure all lines that are in contact with electrostatic charge are Teflon.
Use at 10% heated/ 15% ambient for one K, 15-20% ambient for 2K paints.
Apply at 65 PSI or greater.

Typical program for bell, disk, robot systems
1. PURGE TO DUMP

Manual Paint- gun and line purge specs and procedures
Specs are the same for manual hand gun/line cleaning procedures...65 PSI minimum 10-20% solution strength. (Air purge when possible for a precision clean)

Specs for purging 2K P mix and other plural component systems
15-20% solution at ambient temperatures
65 PSI or greater
Be sure the pressure regulators are in the flush (Wide-open) position

Typical program for P mix type systems
1. Purge to end of gun (removed if possible) until clean
2. Air chop
3. Full and complete air push

Times will vary depending on line lengths, etc. Try to match their current purge times.
